The Idea

Musaion - the free platform / network for artists of all kind

The Idea was born in the 1980ies in Zurich, Switzerland. The creative Carpino-Family thought about a creative house, where ateliers, lessons, artwork, creative happenings would take part.

Then, Tatjana Càrpino had an idea: if there is no money to build that house, there is enough money to create a virtual Musaion - a tempel of the Muses. Here artworkers of all kind could share their work, thoughts, problems as artworkers in our society and sell what they have to society: artwork and art lessons. So in 2006 Musaion became reality in the WWW.

It was planed as a free Swiss network, because Switzerland is rough for artists, if they aren't famous yet. That is why Musaion is in the three Swiss written languages plus english. Now it has members from all above the world and that is more than okay, because art moves humanity and for that it is international and intercultural as well as local.

Musaion network wants to make known artists and their artwork, but it also invites the artists to participate on dicussions in the Musaion-Forum about art and society and other subjects relevant to artists. Tatjana Càrpino hopes, that artists may inspire and help one another, that they form new groups together and that, as a result of their interaction, new artwork may be created..

To give the artists an opportunity of meeting in flesh and blood, Musaion pushes the artists to organize some Events from time to time, for example free exhibitions.
